Here is the Melanoma Patients Australia (MPA) Promo clip we finished about a week ago.

MPA used the clip for their annual gala dinner held last friday night. The dinner was to raise awareness and much needed funds for the vital work supporting cancer patients that they do.

I recommend check out their website and support them if your keen as they have no government funding and do a great job supporting people with melanoma.

We had to create the “look” for the clip from scratch working from a logo as reference. For the first time we tried including subtle hints of 3D for something a bit different.

A huge thanks to Emmalee Hocking for the gret artwork she helped us out with. Also to Jeremy O’Conner and Chirs Poulsen for laying the audio bed from scratch for the new updated web version. A big thanks especially to Stu Larsen for giving us permission to use his song.

Right now I’m in the middle of making a promo clip for Melanoma Patients Australia (MPA) for their annual fundraising gala dinner - “An evening of pure indulgence”. I’ve been working on this project for the last couple of weeks at night time after work with my friend Paul. Sometimes we would work till 2am trying to get the next section finished. In the clip we used slight hints of 3D in some of the layers which were created with Cinema 4D. We are starting to use more 3D as it is increasingly popular on comercial television. It has been an interesting journey to get our heads around yet another production program as we learn all the many aspects of C4D. I’m sure that this will yield more depth within our videos in the future, so i think it’s a good move… Fun times!

The MPA fundraiser will be held at the beautiful Hillstone St. Lucia and promises to be a great night featuring superb 3 course Hillstone cusine, exotic french champagne, entertainment and of course the MPA clip that we’ve been working on.

Although this isn’t the coolest or funest clip I’ve ever made, It was a priviledge to be involved because it is such a worthy cause. If not already, then at some stage all of us are affected by cancer and in Queensland especially - skin cancer. I urge you to give finacially and/or be creative in the ways you can get involved in cancer support.

I can thoroughly endorse this cause because I have experienced first hand how essential support is when your battling cancer. The Team from MPA are hard at work offering that very support to people every day.

You can become a member on their homepage and donate there too. Check it out.

We are covering the event as far as photography goes, so stay tuned to see how the night unfolds in the next few weeks. I’ll also post the final product of this video a little later on too.

MISSIÓN MEXICÓ

By Wilson. Posted in Charities, friends | 3 Comments »

¡Hola,
Mission Mexico is an Orphanage in Tapachula which is a Mexican City in the State of Chiapas.

The Skuse family are the founders of Mission Mexico and over the past few years I have had the pleasure of getting to know a few of their children who are around my own age and currently living in the Fraser Coast. You can see Lupita with little Kiah (wife of Aaron Skuse) and Anna (wife of Rowan Skuse) and Rachel Scott (nee-Skuse) in the previous post for Lupita’s Birthday. Lupita and Anna are our Mexican friends. They are from Tapachula which is where they met & married Aaron and Rowan.

I have decided to run this banner on the sidebar of my website to show my support to whats happening over at Mission Mexico in Tapachula. While the Skuse family are over there helping out first hand, we can also do things to help from Australia (or wherever you are).

If you have a passion for Mexico, for Children or for 3rd World Aid in general - I urge you to check out their website and see what you can do to help these guys out and show your support.
