So it all started one wet Sunday afternoon…

Matt came up with this great idea to shoot a TVC in a bar for the Brevis 35mm adapter. So we started susing out pubs in order to find the perfect “look” for the scene that we were after. Katie kindly offered to take the leading role and with a little encouragement from Matt, she got dolled up for the shoot. We didn’t have to look too far because the pub across the road from Matt & Katie’s had all the feng shui we needed!

We shot the TVC for the Brevis 35mm adapter, ironically, with the Canon 5D and a 50mm 1.4 lens. It took us about an hour to shoot and then 3 more or so to edit it up. I was in charge of the title animation and layout. After a little internet inspiration and talking Matt in to some appropriate background music via an out-vote, we were on our way…

We sent the clip off to “Cinevate” and they LOVED IT, so we were in business! The clip was viewed by tens of thousands of keen videography and communication professionals and enthusiasts at THE BIGGEST videography conference in the world - NAB. The event was hosted by Las Vegas, USA and Matt was fortunate enough to attended earlier this year. Matt’s Pics HERE.

We had fun doing this shoot given the frivolous nature of the clip. Congrats to Matt for coming up with the awesome idea & to Katie for her acting skills.

And thanks to Em for being best boy grip :)

2009, Easterfest Promo

By Wilson. Posted in corporate, fun, video work | 4 Comments »

I’m currently filming the 2010 Easterfest promo video at Easterfest with my friend Matt Ebenezer. Matt is responsible for creating the official Easterfest promo clips. It’s been heaps fun videoing the event with Matt for the last 3 years, not to mention a great experience.

This clip was footage that we shot and Matt edited together for the teaser from the 2008 Easterfest.

Hopefully today is a little less extravagant than yesterday’s fiasco… I’ll explain later for those not on facebook… :)

One more sleep…

Well I hope everyone around these parts has their Toga costumes ready for The Great Australian Togs & Toga Party.

I see that Lyncraft is having a half price sale on material for all of those would be make-your-own goers. As far as Toga selection goes, I think bright & colorful is going to be the new black. If your in our area and you wanna come along to the party - let me know and I’ll see what I can do…

Otherwise, I’ll see you all on the other side and hopefully with some fun pictures.

Pete’s Dads Place

Ok! so the serious lack of blog posts can be attributed to this old shanty in the middle of no where. A few friends and I decided that we were going to have one last go at “getting away from it all” before the holidays are over at the end of this week, so we cruised down the coast and hooked in to coastal country living… The little shack is actually a native plant nursery right on the edge of Lake Cooroibah in Noosa Qld and is surrounded by luscious rain forest-like scrub with beautiful plants & flowers (frangipani). Good little fishing spot (although WE caught none), beautiful lake views and a great place to kick back for a few days with friends.

This would be a great place to come stay if you were backpacking around aus and needed to stay in budget accommodation in a beautiful area. While the shanty belongs to some friends of ours, i think they are keen to rent it out to visitors. The folks that own it also have a freshly renovated hut for those who like it a little newer as well as this one.
