This is the “save the date” video from Josh & Amy’s engagement party. Needless to say - we had HEAPS of fun making this video in a random field in Toowoomba. Lots of… interesting stories
Matt came up with this great idea to shoot a TVC in a bar for the Brevis 35mm adapter. So we started susing out pubs in order to find the perfect “look” for the scene that we were after. Katie kindly offered to take the leading role and with a little encouragement from Matt, she got dolled up for the shoot. We didn’t have to look too far because the pub across the road from Matt & Katie’s had all the feng shui we needed!
We shot the TVC for the Brevis 35mm adapter, ironically, with the Canon 5D and a 50mm 1.4 lens. It took us about an hour to shoot and then 3 more or so to edit it up. I was in charge of the title animation and layout. After a little internet inspiration and talking Matt in to some appropriate background music via an out-vote, we were on our way…
We sent the clip off to “Cinevate” and they LOVED IT, so we were in business! The clip was viewed by tens of thousands of keen videography and communication professionals and enthusiasts at THE BIGGEST videography conference in the world - NAB. The event was hosted by Las Vegas, USA and Matt was fortunate enough to attended earlier this year. Matt’s Pics HERE.
We had fun doing this shoot given the frivolous nature of the clip. Congrats to Matt for coming up with the awesome idea & to Katie for her acting skills.
I’m currently filming the 2010 Easterfest promo video at Easterfest with my friend Matt Ebenezer. Matt is responsible for creating the official Easterfest promo clips. It’s been heaps fun videoing the event with Matt for the last 3 years, not to mention a great experience.
This clip was footage that we shot and Matt edited together for the teaser from the 2008 Easterfest.
Here is the Melanoma Patients Australia (MPA) Promo clip we finished about a week ago.
MPA used the clip for their annual gala dinner held last friday night. The dinner was to raise awareness and much needed funds for the vital work supporting cancer patients that they do.
I recommend check out their website and support them if your keen as they have no government funding and do a great job supporting people with melanoma.
We had to create the “look” for the clip from scratch working from a logo as reference. For the first time we tried including subtle hints of 3D for something a bit different.
A huge thanks to Emmalee Hocking for the gret artwork she helped us out with. Also to Jeremy O’Conner and Chirs Poulsen for laying the audio bed from scratch for the new updated web version. A big thanks especially to Stu Larsen for giving us permission to use his song.
Right now I’m in the middle of making a promo clip for Melanoma Patients Australia (MPA) for their annual fundraising gala dinner - “An evening of pure indulgence”. I’ve been working on this project for the last couple of weeks at night time after work with my friend Paul. Sometimes we would work till 2am trying to get the next section finished. In the clip we used slight hints of 3D in some of the layers which were created with Cinema 4D. We are starting to use more 3D as it is increasingly popular on comercial television. It has been an interesting journey to get our heads around yet another production program as we learn all the many aspects of C4D. I’m sure that this will yield more depth within our videos in the future, so i think it’s a good move… Fun times!
The MPA fundraiser will be held at the beautiful Hillstone St. Lucia and promises to be a great night featuring superb 3 course Hillstone cusine, exotic french champagne, entertainment and of course the MPA clip that we’ve been working on.
Although this isn’t the coolest or funest clip I’ve ever made, It was a priviledge to be involved because it is such a worthy cause. If not already, then at some stage all of us are affected by cancer and in Queensland especially - skin cancer. I urge you to give finacially and/or be creative in the ways you can get involved in cancer support.
I can thoroughly endorse this cause because I have experienced first hand how essential support is when your battling cancer. The Team from MPA are hard at work offering that very support to people every day.
You can become a member on their homepage and donate there too. Check it out.
We are covering the event as far as photography goes, so stay tuned to see how the night unfolds in the next few weeks. I’ll also post the final product of this video a little later on too.
i know, titles don’t get much gayer than that. but what are you gonna do.
so i decided to play around with Cinema 4D and refresh my knowledge again on how incredibly complex a program it is… the results of two days of tinkering around is here - a 14 sec logo clip, integrated with some adobe after effects gear. i realize that this isn’t life changing material, heck, this isn’t the new “liquid” logo, but just something to do on a hot summers day while sitting in sweet sweet air conditioning. Please reserve your harsh judgment, as i realize fully the sloppy composition/editing. i promise I’ll make a better one later on…
if you look really closely you can faintly see Will Gunn’s shorts in the second “i” in liquid… i think he was approaching to rip out an indy blind 180 in that clip
